An exciting writing style By Pat McDonald on October 15, 2015 Format: Kindle Edition Ronald Jackson has always been able to see dead people but it isn???t until Penny a 16 year old freckled faced red head shows up that he has actually been able to talk to one. Her request, to help her kill her mother, unnerves him and he becomes close to falling back into his old addictions. It makes him dwell on his own mother???s death which doesn???t help him and when Penny comes back to seek revenge, he discovers his mother was murdered. This is the author???s debut novel. It is remarkably untainted by an adherence to ???writing rules??? as specified by one writing expert or another. It is a natural and easy writing style of prose that I found quite exciting. Formatting and reminiscing into the past is spot on making the story line flow easy as it should. This book made me think about my own ghosts. Anyone who has lost a parent at a young age will spend most of their lives older than they remembered them to be. Penny???s son is the same age as her and it didn???t seem an unnatural phenomenon to me as the book says ??? ghosts don???t grow any older than when they died. It is a very thought provoking story as it tackles a lot of modern day issues. I found that Penny had me sympathising with her allegiances as I got caught up in her Rage. This is a remarkably well written first book by a promising author whom I think has great future books to come. Pat McDonald (Crime Author)
